Cookies and what is stored on your device
Two values, both stored in your own browser, neither of which leaves your device unless you allow analytics. This page explains each one and lets you clear it.
The short version
CiderHQ sets no cookies of its own. What it stores is two values in your browser’s local storage, and one temporary value that lasts only until you close the tab.
That distinction is worth stating plainly rather than glossing, because it changes what you should do if you want them gone: clearing cookies alone will not remove them, and clearing site data will. It does not change the legal position — storing or reading information on somebody’s device is treated the same way whichever mechanism is used, which is why the analytics value is asked for as a consent and the age value is not treated as one.

None of the three identifies you, and none is readable by any other site: browser storage is partitioned by origin, so these values are visible only to CiderHQ pages open in the browser you are using now. Use a different browser or a different device and there is nothing stored there at all.
Analytics
A consent decision, asked for separately and withdrawable at any time.
Analytics is configured on this build. Nothing loads until you allow it: while your answer is unset or declined, the measurement script is never requested, no identifier is stored and no event is sent.
If you allow it, Google Analytics 4 loads with IP anonymisation enabled and stores its own identifier in your browser, separately from the answer recorded above. It reports which pages are read. It does not know who you are, and CiderHQ does not combine it with anything else, because there is nothing else to combine it with.
Declining changes nothing about what you can see or do here. The site is a set of pre-built pages, and none of it is gated on measurement.

Withdrawing consent records a refusal, which is what stops the bar asking again. Clearing your answer removes the record entirely, so you will be asked once more on your next visit.
The age notice
Not a consent, and kept deliberately apart from the analytics choice.
On a first visit, a bar at the foot of the page states that CiderHQ is written for adults and asks you to confirm that you are 18 or over. Confirming is remembered on this device; dismissing it is remembered only until you close the tab, so it neither nags you nor records an answer you did not give.
It is kept separate from the analytics question on purpose, with its own key, its own control and its own moment — the analytics bar does not appear until the age notice has been answered. Nobody should end up accepting measurement by confirming their age, and stacking two first-visit overlays is how that happens.
The notice does not block anything, and the reasoning for that — including why a self-declaration defeated by one click would not be a control — is set out in full in the alcohol and health policy.

Clearing everything yourself
The controls above are the direct route, and they take effect immediately.
Your browser can do it too. Clearing site data for this site removes both stored values; browsing in a private window means nothing persists after the window closes. If your browser blocks site storage entirely, CiderHQ treats that as though nothing had been answered — the notice appears, nothing is stored, and the site works normally.
