Privacy notice
CiderHQ is a reference work with no accounts, no sign-up and no forms that post anywhere. This notice sets out the little that is stored, where it is stored, and what would have to change for anything to leave your device.

This notice describes CiderHQ specifically. The portfolio-wide instrument is the HEKNO privacy notice, and it governs where the two address the same question.
What is not collected
The shortest accurate summary of this notice is a list of things that do not exist.
- No accounts. There is nothing to register for, no password to set and no profile to hold.
- No forms that post anything about you. The site has no contact form, no comments and no newsletter sign-up. Corrections arrive by email, which means you decide what to send and to whom. The one form on the site is search, and what happens to a search query is set out below.
- No calculator inputs are transmitted. Every tool on the site runs in your browser. A gravity reading, a batch volume or a units calculation is worked out on your own device and is not sent anywhere or stored.
- No date of birth. The age notice asks for a confirmation, not a birth date. A confirmation needs one bit of information; a birth date is personal data collected for no purpose this site can serve.
- No advertising and no advertising trackers. No ad network, no pixel, no remarketing tag, no affiliate link anywhere on the site.
- No third-party embeds. No embedded video, no social widgets, no externally hosted fonts, no comment platform. Nothing on a page loads from a third party and quietly sees your visit.
- No profiling and no automated decisions. Nothing here builds a picture of you, and nothing about the site changes based on who you appear to be.
What is stored on your device
Two decisions are remembered, both in your own browser’s storage rather than in a cookie sent to a server, and neither leaves your device.

Search
Search is the one part of the site that runs per request rather than being pre-built, because shipping the whole index to every visitor would cost several hundred kilobytes to everyone who might search rather than one request from the people who do.
A search is an ordinary GET form. Your query goes into the address bar and is sent to the server, which matches it against the site’s own index and renders the results. The query is not stored by CiderHQ, is not attached to you, is not used to build any profile, and is not sent to any third party. It will appear in the browser history of the device you used, as any visited address does, and — like any request to any website — it may appear in whatever request logging the hosting arrangement keeps.
Search results are excluded from search-engine indexing in three independent places, so a query someone typed does not become a public page.
Analytics
Analytics is configured on this build. Nothing analytics-related loads until you allow it: the measurement script is not requested, no identifier is stored, and no event is sent while your answer is unset or declined. That is a consent requirement, not a preference.
If you allow it, Google Analytics 4 is loaded and configured with IP anonymisation. It stores its own identifier in your browser and reports which pages are read. Declining changes nothing about what you can see or do here, and you can withdraw consent at any time from the cookies page.
Server logs and hosting
CiderHQ sets no server-side cookie and runs no first-party logging or tracking of its own. It is a set of pre-built pages.
Any request to any website nonetheless reaches a server, and a hosting provider may record technical information such as an IP address in the ordinary course of serving and protecting a site. That is a matter for the hosting arrangement rather than something this site adds to, and it falls under the portfolio-wide privacy notice. If you need the current detail of it, write to the address above and ask.
Links to other sites
CiderHQ cites sources, and citations are links. Following one takes you to a regulator, a research institute, a publisher or an authority whose own privacy practices apply and over which this site has no control. Source links are marked so that the destination is not told which page you came from, but visiting a linked site is a visit to that site.
Your rights
In practice
Because there are no accounts and no forms, CiderHQ does not normally hold any personal data about a reader at all. The two stored values are in your browser, not on a server, and you can inspect and delete them yourself from the cookies page — no request to us is required, and none would be effective, because we cannot reach them.
If you email us, we hold that email in order to reply to it, which is the only circumstance in which this site ordinarily comes to hold anything about a person.
Formally
Where HEKNO LTD does hold personal data about you, data protection law gives you rights over it — including to ask what is held, to have it corrected, and to have it erased. Those rights, how to exercise them and how to complain to a supervisory authority are set out in the portfolio-wide privacy notice.

Children
CiderHQ is written for adults and is not directed at children. The site asks readers to confirm they are 18 or over, notes that the law where they are may set a higher age, and does not collect a date of birth or anything else that would identify a reader’s age. The reasoning behind that approach — including why the notice does not block access — is set out under the age notice.
Changes to this notice
If what the site stores or transmits changes, this notice and the cookies page change with it — both are generated from the same configuration the site actually runs on, which is what stops a notice describing a version of the site that no longer exists.
