Does alcohol-free cider contain any alcohol at all?
In short
Usually a little. "Alcohol-free" is a labelling descriptor with a numerical ceiling rather than a statement of zero, and the ceiling differs between jurisdictions. There are two routes to a low or zero figure. A cider can be fermented normally and then have its alcohol removed — by vacuum distillation, reverse osmosis or a spinning cone — or it can be made so that little alcohol is produced in the first place, by arresting the ferment or by fermenting a diluted must.
Removing alcohol removes aroma with it, and alcohol contributes body and carries volatiles, so a de-alcoholised cider commonly needs some of that structure restored. This is a technical difficulty rather than an inevitable failure, and the approaches differ considerably in outcome.

A misconception worth clearing up
